The Huron Clean Water Project (HCWP) funds water quality improvement projects in Huron County. It combines funding from the County of Huron with other cost-share programs and contributions from landowners. These funds are available to:
- Local farmers
- Rural landowners
- Businesses
- Community organizations
The grants help cover costs for projects that enhance and protect water quality on various properties.
The Maitland Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA) and the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority (ABCA) distribute the funds and manage the program for the County. Since its inception in 2005, the program has supported over 3,645 stewardship projects, with a total project value exceeding $14.5 million.
